IIT-B SAMEER Visit
On 28th February 2019, the Physics club of DBIT organized a visit to the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER) in IIT-B, Mumbai. The purpose of the visit was to study the various high-tech imaging equipment and devices that were based on the application of microwave radiation. The event was organized in celebration of National Science Day.
The visit was attended by a group of students from DBIT who were interested in exploring the world of high-tech imaging equipment and devices. The group was accompanied by their faculty members, who provided them with guidance and support throughout the visit.
At the SAMEER facility, the group was given a detailed presentation on the history and development of microwave technology. They were introduced to various microwave devices and imaging equipment, including the Linear Particle Accelerator "SIDDHARTH," which was the prime attraction of the visit. The group was fascinated to learn about the various applications of microwave radiation in different fields such as medicine, telecommunications, and defense.
The students were also given a tour of the SAMEER facility, where they observed the different high-tech equipment and devices in action. They were able to witness the advanced technologies used for imaging and diagnosis, which had a profound impact on their understanding of the subject.
The visit to SAMEER was a great success, and the students returned to DBIT with a greater appreciation and understanding of the applications of microwave technology. They were able to see first-hand how technology has advanced over the years and how it is shaping the world we live in. The visit was an excellent opportunity for the students to learn, explore, and expand their knowledge of science and technology.
